Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of the agreement

Before using the Aha Translate browser extension and related services, please read this agreement carefully. By starting to use it, you agree to be bound by all of its terms.

2. Description of service

Aha Translate is a browser translation extension offering full-page translation, select-to-translate, YouTube subtitle translation, and more. The exact scope of features is determined by what the extension actually provides, and we reserve the right to adjust features according to our product plans.

3. Identity and the top-up card

  1. 3.1 No account registration is required to use the service, and there is no password or login step. Before you top up, you use the service as an anonymous guest, identified and metered by your browser instance.
  2. 3.2 When a top-up succeeds, we generate a 24-character card number (the “card”) and store it in your current browser. The card number is your proof of payment and the basis on which your balance is attributed: enter it to top up again or to use the balance on another device.
  3. 3.3 The card number cannot be recovered by yourself. Anyone holding the card number can spend its balance, so keep it safe and do not disclose it; you bear any loss of balance caused by disclosure of the card number.
  4. 3.4 Our server keeps the card number. If you lose it, you may contact us with your payment proof (such as a WeChat Pay order number or card statement), and we will recover it manually after verification.

4. Free credit rules

  1. 4.1 A newly installed browser automatically receives ¥1 of free translation credit once. The exact amount and rules are as shown in the extension, and we may adjust them from time to time.
  2. 4.2 Free credit is granted per browser instance, once per instance; clearing the extension’s data or switching browsers does not guarantee another grant. We reserve the right to reclaim credit or restrict use when we detect abuse (such as bulk installation or scripted inflation of usage).

5. Top-ups and balances

  1. 5.1 Translation is billed by actual usage; there is no subscription or auto-renewal. Top-up tiers and unit prices are as shown in the extension. We may adjust prices; adjustments do not affect balance already topped up.
  2. 5.2 The CNY balance topped up via WeChat Pay and the USD balance topped up by card are two independent balances and cannot be converted into or merged with each other.
  3. 5.3 Balances do not expire. Balance can only be used for translation in this service and cannot be transferred or withdrawn (for refunds see Section 6).

6. Refunds

  1. 6.1 Top-up balance is a prepayment. To request a refund, contact us via “Contact” in the extension or the email address in Section 11, attaching your payment proof (such as a WeChat Pay order number or card statement).
  2. 6.2 After verification, we refund the unused balance through the original payment channel; the part already consumed is not refundable. Refunds are processed manually, so processing time depends on actual progress, and the time to arrival also depends on the payment channel.
  3. 6.3 Free credit and promotional credit are not refundable. We reserve the right to refuse refunds for cards or instances involved in abuse.

7. Prohibited uses

When using this service, you must not:

  • Translate or disseminate content that violates laws or regulations
  • Reverse-engineer, maliciously attack, or interfere with the normal operation of the service
  • Use the service for any unauthorized commercial purpose

8. Service changes and interruptions

We may adjust, suspend, or terminate part of the service due to product iteration, maintenance, force majeure, or similar reasons. We will try to give advance notice but are not liable for indirect losses arising from this.

9. Disclaimer

Translation results are produced by a third-party translation engine and may contain inaccuracies. For important scenarios (such as legal, medical, or financial decisions), please do not rely entirely on machine translation.

10. Updates to the agreement

We may update this agreement from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page, and your continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated agreement.
